Crappy rain dance

My attempt at a rain dance clearly counted for nothing today as it stayed resolutely dry and so I still haven’t managed to test out my new Montane Superfly just yet. However, I can say that it’s a good windproof and very breathable even in warm sunshine. Which is nice. The fact that it weighs sub-400g is also fantastic.

So instead of getting wet today I tried my hand at another smoothie. After Friday night’s luvverly combination of blaeberries, pineapple, mango, ginger and soya milk I decided to try a “green” smoothie made from apples, cucumber, celery, lettuce and beetroot. Results below;

Red smoothie

Rather like the Heart of Gold’s ability to produce a substance almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea this was almost, but not quite, entirely tasteless. Except what little taste it has wasn’t too pleasant and after half a glass my stomach started doing small spasms. Then I got a headache. I’m not saying these events are scientifically linked but y’never know. I tried sifting the pulp out and took a mouthful of just juice. Howfin’. Got to try these things though, eh?

Why on earth did you think combining those ingredients in a glass would be a good idea? Sounds like a bad waldorf salad without the texture.

It was from a recipe. I wasn’t convinced it was going to be great but I’d like to think that these books full of veg based smoothies aren’t complete bunk.
