I don’t think it counts

I couldn’t help but smile cynically while waiting for my train home this evening. There were three trains running late and each one gets its own automatic announcement whenever the status changes. For a train that simply hasn’t left yet that means that every minute the auto-announcer comes on and informs everyone in the station that the 17:45 to Glasgow Queen Street is now fourteen minutes late, Scotrail apologies for the delay and any inconvenience this may cause.

So with three trains running late we heard that one what felt like a constant loop. Automated apologies don’t count for much anyway but repeated that often it begins to sound sarcastic.
