The Numbers

Nothing to do with Lost, just an idea I had earlier in the year to do with numbers. I think the idea came to me while reading 45, though I could be wrong.

I thought it would be interesting to see how many counts I could keep over the next year. I’ve started again trying to catalogue the films I watch so that’s a count for a start. How many DVDs will I buy? How many kilometres will I run? Cycle? Really, anything I can quantify easily.

For example, I’ve decided to try the “Push-Up A Day” challenge described by Rory. It’s very simple. One push up on the first of January, two on the second, three on the third and so on. I only started on the 22nd but that means that so far I’ve done 120 push ups (I’ve yet to do tonight’s).

I’ve watched 8 new films so far, bought 10 DVDs and two CDs. If other more interesting counts come to mind I’ll add them to the list.

I presume you’ve seen this guy, who takes his personal stats seriously:

I hadn’t seen that. His knowledge of his travels is a bit scary.
